Dr Adeel Ghayur is Project Manager at CO2CRC and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland. He has twenty years of research, managerial and policy experience, having worked in the Australian government, academic and industrial sectors. His career in Pakistan spanned these and not-for-profit sectors.

Dr Ghayur did his post-doctorate in advanced biomanufacturing and Ph.D. in circular bioeconomy. His M.Phil. degree was in biorefinery engineering, and he holds a Masters in systems engineering.

Dr Ghayur has developed the orycycle economy model, invented Lignik biosynthetic wood and engineered processes for biosynthetic solar cells and renewable fuels. He has a track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary teams and multimillion-dollar projects for timely and within-budget deliveries. He is a prolific writer with dozens of peer-reviewed publications, newspaper articles and novels.
