Professional Bio
Gang Kevin Li is an associate professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, the University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD in pressure swing adsorption technologies from Monash University. He is the chief investigator of the Clean Energy Laboratory, and a research theme leader of the ARC Centre for LNG Futures.
Kevin is specialized in the areas of CO2 capture and reduction, hydrogen production, enrichment of coal bed methane, and natural gas processing. He has more than 130 journal publications including Nature, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, AIChE Journal, and etc, and over 30 patents.
His research has led to multiple spin-out companies and attracted over $12M investment fund from leading industry partners, governments, and venture capitals such as Breakthrough Energy Ventures. He received the ARC DECRA in 2013, Western Australia Innovator Of The Year (2015), ExxonMobil Award of Excellence in Chemical Engineering (2019), and the ATSE David and Valerie Solomon Prize (2020).
