Cameron joined INPEX in 2012 and his previous roles include Commercial Manager Ichthys and Commercial Manager GHG Management.

 

In his current role, Cameron leads teams that cover a variety of commercial activities, including: an Ichthys LNG supply team, which manages interfaces between operations and buyers/lifters of product cargoes from Ichthys LNG; an economics team, which conducts economic evaluations for all investment and M&A activity within Australia; and a GHG team that manages overall Ichthys greenhouse gas strategy and compliance activity.

 

Originally from a dairy/beef farming background, Cameron completed Chemical Engineering (Hons, 1^st class) and Commerce degrees at the University of Melbourne.

 

In 1993, he began his professional career with BP at the Kwinana Refinery, as a process engineer. His subsequent 20-year career with BP included significant international experience based in London and Los Angeles, before returning to Perth in 2011. 

 

Cameron’s experience encompasses both petroleum refining and upstream oil and gas, having developed functional expertise in engineering, supply and trading, commercial contracts, greenhouse gas management and climate change policy. 

 

His leadership experience has included leading change and building organisational capability.

 

Cameron is a strong advocate for the positive role traditional energy companies such as INPEX can fulfill in the global energy transition, while maintaining energy security and affordability, maximising the use of technologies including renewable power and carbon capture and storage in production and operations.

 

Cameron lives in Perth with his wife Jessie and their three children.
